How our NVQ / VRQ training courses work

Once you have booked your course and chosen a start-date, Beauty Training Harrow will send you a confirmation letter.
Attend a theory and practical-based workshop at the salon. This workshop varies from one to two days depending on your chosen subject.
During the workshop, a qualified therapy lecturer will talk you through the theory required for the course and give you course notes to study at home.
A practical demonstration will then follow, showing you the complete treatment procedure. You have the opportunity for hands-on experience at the workshop.
You can also practise your skills on friends or clients at our Student Salon.
You do the rest of your training at home to build your Portfolio of Evidence. This includes:
- Practical Assessments
- Record-keeping
- Take photo evidence
- Complete and hand in your Portfolio of Evidence
You will then be assessed back at the salon before receiving your NVQ / VRQ certificate. This is awarded by the Vocational Training Charitable Trust [VTCT].
